Celebrating International Day of Yoga at HES PSS

On June 21st, we commemorated International Yoga Day with an extraordinary Wellness Wednesday Event, guided by our esteemed instructor, Lupita. We are thrilled to extend an invitation for you to be a part of the festivities by immersing yourself in "Yoga Beyond the Poses," a captivating video that offers a brief history of yoga along with a 30-minute yoga session. It is now accessible on our YouTube channel, and we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity. Additionally, stay tuned for an upcoming podcast where we will delve into the rich history and profound significance of yoga. Join us as we continue to explore the transformative power of yoga on our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

We extend our deepest appreciation to everyone who participated in our International Yoga Day celebrations. Witnessing the virtual gathering of the global yoga community was an awe-inspiring experience. We would also like to express our immense gratitude to Dr. Meghna Middha, our exceptional Director of Communications, for proposing this extraordinary event in honor of International Yoga Day. Despite the distance, Meghna's presence all the way from India enriched our celebration. She also kindly shared captivating pictures and videos showcasing the diverse festivities that took place throughout India to celebrate this day.

It's worth noting that the idea of dedicating a specific day to yoga was first proposed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to the United Nations in 2014. June 21, the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere, was chosen as the date for International Yoga Day. Later, on December 11, 2014, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously declared June 21st as International Yoga Day.

Lastly, we would like to acknowledge Ramdev, an influential Indian yoga guru, businessman, and brand ambassador for Patanjali Ayurved. Ramdev is widely known for his advocacy of yoga and ayurveda in India, making significant contributions to the promotion and awareness of these practices.

Once again, thank you to everyone who made our International Yoga Day celebration a resounding success. Let us continue to embrace the transformative power of yoga and its profound impact on our physical, mental, and spiritual well-being.

Make sure to join us on Wednesdays for our Meditative Yoga events.
